At Home Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

I don’t know about you, but when life gets busy with kids, work, cooking, cleaning, etc. it’s easy to put the relationship with our spouse on the backburner when the time starts to run out in a day. And now, with COVID running rampant and -50 degree weather, it’s been a challenge to say the least to plan a date night. I’m sure we are all in the same boat, so I thought I would get creative and share some ideas of at home date nights (that can still work, despite busy schedules, global pandemics and frigid temperatures).

Recreate a movie theatre date in your own home. Hire a babysitter to watch the children upstairs while you and your partner get cozy and watch a movie downstairs. Pile pillows and blankets on the floor, stock up on your favourite candy, popcorn and drinks and enjoy a movie that you both love.

Plan an at home paint night.

Express your creativity and love for each other by purchasing paint and art supplies from your local dollar store and having a paint night at home. To make it extra fun, why not paint each other and see yourself through your partner’s eyes.

Bake cookies together and then sit and enjoy them.

Take time to work together as a team to choose a recipe, gather ingredients and make cookies. While they are baking, you can have time to connect and talk; and the best part? You can sit and eat warm, fresh cookies right out of the oven.

Visit a museum.

Some of the world’s biggest museums, aquariums and zoos are offering livestream events and tours. Choose one that you both would enjoy, head to their website and enjoy your “travel adventure”. Work on a really hard puzzle together.

Working together as a team on this could take days or even weeks to complete but it will be something that you both are working on together and even if it’s just a few minutes here and there, it will give you time to connect and work together as a team.

We know how difficult finding time to connect can be these days, so we are sharing a code with you just for being here. Use the code LOVE2021 to book a Little Einsteins sitter on Valentines Day weekend and enjoy 1 extra hour free and no membership is required!

So get your spouse on board, pick an idea together, book a sitter to keep the kids occupied in another area of the house and enjoy your date night!
